"Spotlight"...Jennifer Hudson

"...Well, I don’t like living under your spotlight
Just because you think I might
find somebody worthy oh oh oh
Well, I don’t like living under your spotlight
Baby if you treat me right,
you won’t have to worry

Is this a relationship, fulfilling your needs as well as mine
Is that you?
Is that you?
Is that you? yeah
Or is this just my sentence, am I doing time?
Is that you?
Is that you?
Is that you? yeah
Oh if this is love, real, real love, then I’m staying no doubt
Is that you?
Is that you?
Is that you? yeah
But if I’m just loves prisoner, then I’m busting out
Is that you?
Is that you?
Is that you? yeah

Oh, you oughta be ashamed of yourself
What the hell do you think you’re doing?
Loving me, loving me, so wrong
Baby, all I do is try (Try)
To show you that you’re my (my) one and only guy (only guy)
No matter who may come along
Open your eyes cuz baby I don’t like..."

I didn’t realize, it’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything. If it wasn’t for my friend, who recently reminded me via email, I’m sure I might have forgotten altogether, at least for another couple of days. Sad that I would forget, as I’ve been doing nothing, really. Since the last post – I’ve met up with a friend whom I met at the college toga party a couple of weeks ago, the same one that I fell on my tailbone after. Though it was fun and we had some drinks and I completely tooled him in Silver Bowling, ha – I wasn’t feeling anything and really feeling more like an older sister of some sorts. The actual plan was to go salsa dancing but since my tailbone and backside were still in pain, that and I could barely sit or stand longer than a half hour, it wasn’t a good idea.

And of course, I’ve hung out w/WB a few times which has been good. Not just because we had good conversations but because it wasn’t painful as it has been the last few times, in planning the times and places. The times weren’t changed after already confirming the time and the place remained the same, after the initial decision, yay.

One day, I also hung out w/L-Y, so I could go with her to her ‘weave’ appointment, another detail added for her love journey to NZ. Since she received the okay to book the flight, it’s been non stop preparation to see her ex/luv interest/on and off again friend. Her ex lived in our area for awhile and L-Y dated for 6 or so months, until his Visa ran out and he moved back to what I hear, the beautiful country land of NZ. So, now with less than a week to go, she’s in full swing – coloring the hair, borrowing cute clothes from friends, shopping, getting clothes tailored all on top of already detoxing, dieting – no alcohol and working out 3 times a day. Things we do for luv and to feel good about ourselves, I suppose, ha.

Since I had a day off this week, I headed w/ her to this sketchy appointment so she could have thicker/fuller hair. It was sketch and thankfully it didn’t work out. When we walked in, it was nothing but a large carpeted room, 5 full length mirrors against the wall and in front, 5 office chairs. There were no sinks, no hair appliances (straighteners, curling irons, etc) and most surprisingly, no stylists. It was only a man behind a desk, sitting in front of the computer. The man advised L-Y that he had to go and pick up her stylist (wtf!?) and he’d be back, leaving us to an empty room for almost 45 minutes. When he finally did come back, there was no stylist accompanying him. Instead, the owner advised that the stylist had gone to a suburb (nearly 40 minutes away) to a storage facility to retrieve the tools needed for the weave. The man was ‘kind enough’ to ask us to wait another half hour or L-Y could re-schedule. Obviously we were no fools and we headed out. We set off to find a random place for L-Y to get a weave done and we found one, less than 3 minutes away from my place in another sketch area. But it worked, after 25 minutes, the weave was in place. Of course only for L-Y to take out minutes later, as something wasn’t placed right, ha. Even so… it turned out to be an entertaining day.

Other than hanging out w/WB or L-Y, or doing who knows what, it’s the same – status quo, which I won’t complain about. Although, speaking of complaining – I will complain about my backside/tailbone. My low note of the past couple of days: For almost 2 weeks, my tailbone has been painful, whether I’m sitting, standing, coughing, sneezing, walking or sleeping. It’s ridiculous. People have advised to get it checked out but honestly, I see no need. Whether it’s broken (which I’m 96% sure it’s not) or bruised, the doc isn’t going to do much for me but maybe prescribe some pain meds or if it comes to it, shoot some soothing stuff in the region. There’s no brace or wrap that they give you. So, to sum up – I now ‘semi know’ what it feels like to have chronic back pain or to be arthritic because it’s a constant pain and honestly, the consistency of it is making me crabby. Ha

On a high note – I accomplished a huge feat and through the pain of my backside, still plunged my way to a clog free toilet! It’s disgusting to write more or get into details but having a clogged toilet (by the way from over use of toilet paper, stuffing paper towels and q-tips, ha), is a major inconvenience and embarrassment. I was going to give up and call the apt complex but decided to see if I could brave it and fix it. And, dandy that – I was my own toolman Taylor, wahoo!
